Shankara plays North Indian classical music which is largely improvisation based on certain ragas. The band members have learnt from the local masters in India and Nepal. Singer Peali Mitra joined the group in the year 2005. Ms. Mitra is an experienced and versatile singer and in her native country she has performed for instance regularly in the reputable All India Radio.
